Insane Danny Way

Danny Way (born April 15, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder. In X Games 14 – Los Angeles, California (July 31 – August 3, 2008), Danny Way was participating in the ‘Big Air’ competition. Before this, he had won in all the X Games Big Air competitions he had participated in.

In his 2nd of the 5 runs, his shins clipped on the edge of the quarter-pipe after a 20+ foot freefall, which the commentators referred to as the “second worst fall ever at the X Games”.

When Sachin Tendulkar was slapped

Praveen Amre, who was coached by Sir Ramakant Achrekar (who also had Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli under his tutelage), recalled an incident, in an interview, about Sachin Tendulkar when he used to play as an under-14.

He said that the disciplinarian, Sir Achrekar seldom said ‘well played’ to anyone, but he used to call Sachin a hero. Amre didn’t fail to mention that Sir Achrekar did everything he could for Sachin. He was ruthless to Sachin when it came to training, but also used to drive him around on the Mumbai streets on his scooter after the tough training. Not to forget, he might be the only person who has slapped the great Sachin Tendulkar.
